EnerSys is looking for an experienced project manager to oversee the design and manufacturing of new electronic products or high Value custom charger solutions.
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for providing overall project management for in-house design, outsourcing or custom orders for electronic solutions. The senior project manager will be looked to for guidance and decision-making on major issues related to the execution and delivery of NPI projects. The individual will maintain an ongoing work plan and will ensure that all work carried out is in alignment with the goals and objectives of the business as defined by the Global Marketing Leader Team. This position will be a key contributor to the management team for planning, budgeting and other general management issues, as well as in mentoring others in project management practices.
Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing requirements
Manages resources in conjunction with functional managers, production and sub-contractors
Assigns, schedules, trains, reviews, and monitors project work to ensure that progress is within expected guidelines and is completed on time and within budget
Manages day-to-day operational aspects of project and scope
Effectively manages project risk through mitigation planning
Identifies, tracks, monitors and communicates project-related issues, scope changes, variances and contingencies that may arise during the NPI stages
Effectively applies Project Management methodology
Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures
Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
Skills and Experience Required
Understands cost-to-completion projections and makes decisions accordingly
Holds regular status meetings with project team
Keeps executive team informed of project progress and cost status during the NPI meeting
Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
A background in electrical engineering would be an asset
Experience in project management for engineered electrical/electronic systems is highly appreciated
Exposure to electrical codes and standards would be beneficial
Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change
Keeps track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members
Mitigates team conflict and communication problems
Encourages “straight talk” among team members
Required Education, experience
5-10 years’ experience in Program/Project Management
Extensive experience managing in a cross-functional team environment
Project Management Certification from a recognized institution/association
Relevant experience in electrical or electronics industries will be of particular interest.
