Overview:
We are looking for a Project Manager to join the Operations team. In this role, you will help drive cross-functional teams to translate requirements and financial planner needs into a usable and effective customer and financial planner experience. With a solid understanding of the Financial Planning group's goals, you will document requirements for each project and prioritize tasks in the context of the broader roadmap. You will be a key member of the Operations team, specifically focused on balancing our pursuit of driving efficiencies with our ability to deliver a world-class experience for our financial planners and the customers they serve.

Ideally, you would have a strong background in the development and project management of operations processes along with web-based products and services. You would also possess a blend of business and technical savvy and be comfortable working directly with financial planning, operations, product, and engineering teams. Your strong project management skills and operations experience will allow you to consistently be aware of opportunities while monitoring workflow and deadlines. You will be responsible for tracking and reporting related results, and continually honing projects so that they meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with the technical, financial planning, and operations teams effectively to set expectations and deliver solutions in a timely manner
  • Own large-scale, complex operations projects throughout the entire lifecycle, including post-release follow-ups regarding metrics and areas for improvement
  • Write specifications, prioritize features, build consensus, and coordinate project schedules across operations and financial planning
  • Coordinate with product management and technology team members to ensure alignment between the operations and product roadmaps
  • Develop project plans
  • Drive efficiencies and streamline processes for our financial planners without detracting from the customer experience

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience as a project management or consulting background, and a passion for startups and technology
  • Proven experience releasing operational processes and projects to companies successfully
  • Ability to develop and monitor project schedules and timelines to identify and meet critical milestones
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid grasp of technical documentation practices and standards
  • Demonstrated experience gathering requirements and organizing resources
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle, B2B/B2C products, content management systems, and web analytics
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills, and experience in a professional services / client-facing environment
  • Experience bringing operational processes and systems from conception to implementation, including defining and communicating specifications, managing resources, and leading cross-functional teams
  • 4-year degree from an accredited college or university
