We are currently seeking a strong Project Manager to work onsite at our client based in Montclair, NJ on a 12 to 36 month contract basis. Below is the detailed job description;

Manage all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, from initial ideation phases to the final project closure activities.
Ability to dive into the details of a project to flush out issues and risks while simultaneously possessing the ability to see the bigger picture and understand the interdependencies of the overall program.
Maintains overall accountability for the successful delivery of the designated project / program to the Business.
Establishes work plan tracking procedures, status reporting, issue management, change management, resource management, configuration management, financial management, etc.
Establishes and manages project schedules; taking into consideration deadlines, dependencies, resources, and costs.
Coordinates, directs and monitors IT & Business programs ensuring consistency of processes across projects.
Serves as an advisor for service delivery managers and project teams and oversees the development of project plans and schedules, project cost/benefits estimates, estimates of project staffing requirements and issue management.
Communicates with program/project managers and solution managers to ensure projects adhere to all phases of software development life-cycle management.
Ensures that all ongoing projects are run within the constraints of scope, quality, time and cost
Adheres to PMO processes and procedures and use of standard forms and templates.
Creates reports and documentation to measure status of projects and review results on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
Manages 3rd party vendors selected to participate in assigned projects, including full vendor management procedures.
Performs analysis of program/project issues, resolves problems, identifies and recommends improvement opportunities as related to the policies of the PMO. Participates in PMO functions, processes, and roll-out.
Facilitates the detailed definition and scoping of projects including both the IT portions of a project and the Business / Business process components of the project.
Coordinates with both Business Unit resources as well as IT resources.
Functions well within a matrix organizational structure. Must be able to navigate within an organization to get results.
Improves business processes by collaborating with customers, colleagues, and other functional teams.
Manages communication between internal customers and various functional groups
Participates in vendor evaluations and provides recommendations.
Maintains information systems by developing and enforcing documentation requirements; enforcing change control.
Improves quality results by implementing unit, system and integration testing cycles.
Understands and uses critical path management.
Proactively identifies and communicates risks to project development and schedule.
Monitors and drives resolution of issues.
Adheres to client’s Governance, PM methods, and tools/templates as appropriate.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS :
Deep understanding of the implementation and usage of the Banner Student Information System Suite including but not limited the following modules: Core Banner, Financial Aid, Degree Works, Communication Management, ePrint, Recruiter, Flexible Registration, ODS, Document Management, Course Signals, Mobile, Payment Center, FM Needs Analysis, Recruiting and Admissions Performance, Student Retention Performance and Luminis Portal, Workflow, Application Manager and Xtender test package.
This person must have excellent leadership skills and must be able to work with a diverse project team consisting of resources from all parts of the organization (both IT & Business).
At least 3 years’ experience implementing a Student Services Platform (Banner, SCT, Datatel) as a Project Manager.
Excellent project/time management skills required.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Self-motivated and able to perform with minimal supervision.
Experience with project cost management and resource capacity planning.
Strong Data Analysis skills.
Strong Business Process Analysis skills and Business Process Mapping.
Strong Change Management skills.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
7+ years of PM experience.
2+ years of PMO experience.
Project / Program Management experience.
Clear understanding of the differences between Project Management and Program Management.
Technical Project Management (traditional Requirements, Design, Code, Test, Deploy).
Business Project Management (Training, Communications, Metrics, Business Requirements, etc.).
