Job Description:
PPC is seeking a Project Manager with financial and information technology experience. The qualified candidate will have expertise to manage a large technical project that supports business, data, financial and analytical reporting requirements for a Federal government agency. The Project Manager will have experience leading software development projects, but also leading a team of data and financial experts in statistical analysis and reporting needs. Managing projects that analyzed financial markets, securities and financial data would be an asset.
Other responsibilities for this role:
Client interaction including daily contact across multiple teams and personnel including executive management
Communicates across project teams in order to deliver projects on-time and on-budget
Tracks budget and schedule progress through the appropriate metrics. Revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements of the client
Identifies critical risks and issues ensuring they are identified, tracked, reported and resolved in a timely manner
Manages day-to-day operational aspects of the project requirements, scope and change management issues
Prepare, present and review project plans, status reports, cost / benefit studies and recommend funding and resources
Supports program lifecycle of the projects (customer interaction, technical delivery, status reporting and analytical solutions)
Mentors project team members to understand and accomplish goals, meet target schedules and milestones, resolve and mitigate issues, establish metrics for measuring key performance criteria
Implements Quality Assurance and Change Management processes to ensure timely superior deliverables throughout the project
Reviews deliverables prepared by team
Monitors and reports on project activities related to the program
Meets with team members and customers to review project scope and progress
Develops, implements and ensures proper execution of project work plan
Minimum Qualifications:
Advanced degree in social science, business, engineering or science
10+ years of experience in mathematics, business administration and/or science related projects
5+ years managing large projects with a mix of technical and business staff
Demonstrated experience managing large project in the financial sector
Superior customer interface at senior levels of client management
Ability to attract, motivate and provide task assignments to a range of technical, business and subject matter staff
PMP certified
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively to a wide-range of stakeholders
Strong time management skills and proven ability to work on time-sensitive deliverables
