DESCRIPTION

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking one (1) qualified candidate to fill the full-time position of Mental Hygiene Project Manager in the Office of the Executive Deputy Commissioner. This position will report directly to the Director, NYC Project Hope.

The Mental Hygiene Division of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is responsible for policy, programs, and provider oversight related to mental health; alcohol and drug use; developmental delays and disabilities; and early intervention services. The work of the Division is informed by the goals of improving clinical and rehabilitative services; integrating mental health, substance use, and primary care; promoting healthy childhood development; reducing racial/ethnic and socioeconomic health inequalities; and promoting recovery. The Office of the Executive Deputy Commissioner (EDC) provides leadership and coordination across
all bureaus and offices in the Division.

DUTIES

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and ensure the implementation of Divisional program and policy priorities across bureaus and programs within the Division. Provide oversight and monitoring of NYC CCP contracted Providers
  • Complete special projects and assignments as directed by the Senior Advisor to the Executive Deputy Commissioner
  • Conduct assigned research, investigations and data analysis and make recommendations to the EDC's Office
  • Manage communication among Bureau/Department staff and offices
  • Manage the development and documentation of organizational processes to increase the efficiency of ongoing operations and special projects with the Division
  • Serve as divisional representative for programmatic and operational items
  • Plan and coordinate meetings and workgroups and track follow-up, to ensure the completion of complex, high-priority projects
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements/ Preferred Skills:
  • A Master's Degree in Social work, Public Health, Public Administration, or other relevant graduate degree from an accredited college or university
  • A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and one (1) year of professional experience
  • Background or training in Project Management practice and methodology
  • Ability to guide complex initiatives to timely conclusions
  • Exceptional team-building and communication skills
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and work in an unpredictable environment
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Knowledge of mental hygiene issues and populations
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills required
  • Excellent written, oral and organizational skills
