Scope & Responsibilities:
The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the overall profitability and management of his/her assigned Field Services group.

The individual in this position provides overall management, including project/materials planning; work scheduling, task direction, guidance and training for an assigned field services group, work group, which will consist of at least two (2) full-time employees. This group may include, but is not limited to, Environmental Specialists, Field Services Supervisors, Drivers, Heavy Equipment Operators, Material Handlers and subcontractors.

The incumbent in this position must be able to successfully manage the business operations of the assigned Field Services Group, which includes management of budgetary issues, contractual and financial issues, customer job specifications, interpretation and application of company policy, safety compliance and regulatory guidelines.

The individual in this position may work at a customer site, branch location or in the field.

A major responsibility of this position is also making recommendations on the hiring, training, promotion, salary adjustments, status changes and disciplinary corrective actions, up to and including termination for their direct reports.

Position provides expert consultative services pertaining to all aspects of environmental and safety matters between customers and Veolia management, which includes but is not limited to the following: .

Tank cleaning, tank pull and other remediation type projects

·

Facility closures, decontamination and chemical cleaning projects

·

Working with reactive chemicals and cylinders

·

Demonstrate full compliance to all company and branch required policies, procedures and those at different customer sites

·

Being able to critically review a process breakdown and offer solutions and or redevelopment ideas for improvement

·

Coordinate logistics for transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste from client site including profiling, scheduling, manifesting and physically loading bulk and drum loads.

Consult with client to identify, design and implement cost saving opportunities and proposals.

·

Ensure compliance with client and government regulations by performing necessary inspections and reporting. Resolve all issues in a timely manner.

Administer client and vendor financial obligations including invoicing, reporting and contracts.

Promote culture of safety by ensuring site personnel are properly trained to perform assigned duties and comply with safety, environmental, federal, state & local regulations

·

This person will be responsible for supervising teams of field employees in providing services to clients that result in the safe disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.

He/She will coordinate and schedule field personnel while providing guidance and training to all field staff, and manage projects in the field as well.

He/She will work closely with the Account Manager and Operations Manager in preparing project estimates, proposals, and post project paperwork, in addition to conducting job walks and attending necessary pre-bid/project meetings.

·

He/She must have strong knowledge in RCRA, DOT, and Supervisory skills, good communication, computer, and customer service skills with hazardous waste endorsement.

This position also requires a thorough understanding of lab packing, chemical segregation, classification, packaging, labeling, transportation and disposal of hazardous waste.

Qualifications

·

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:


BS in Chemistry or BA in related science discipline or equivalent work experience required



5 to 7 years of hazardous waste experience required



Demonstrated knowledge of EPA, DOT and OSHA regulatory restrictions associated with reactive chemicals



Ability to deal with pressurized cylinders, vessels and high hazard chemicals contained within these cylinders



Strong Chemistry background and understanding of the chemical structure and their potential to react with other chemicals forming unstable compounds



Strong Field Fingerprinting skills for unknown chemicals and or for determining chemicals with very little information available.



Extensive knowledge and understanding of Explosives, their classification, categorization, handling



Understanding of Compressed Gas Association (CGA) requirements with regards to cylinder design, color coding and valving criteria's



The ability to recognize the manpower and equipment needs and be able to manage within the limited available resources as best as possible



Develop your direct reports and place them on a path of progression so we can create depth in our team and become stronger



Lead by Example and show others what to expect and how to conduct themselves professionally



Working with industry specific tools, dismantling and demolition experience



3 to 4 years of supervisory experience preferred



Thorough understanding of DOT Organic Peroxide and Self-reactive Chemicals and their classification and Characterization

Certification/Licenses:


A valid Driver’s License is required



40-hour HAZWOPER Training.
