VIP is looking for a strong Project Manager to support an existing project of ours with a Federal client. This salaried position will be located out of our Alexandria, VA office with occasional meetings at the Client sites in the DC metro area.

  • Strong leadership skills to manage an aggressive development schedule and a demanding client
  • Demonstrable problem solving and issue resolution skills to mitigate risks
  • Ability to manage a team that consists of VIP employees and subcontractors
  • Demonstrable experience in the full SDLC development lifecycle
  • Experience in overseeing business process reengineering, ETL development, database queries across multiple databases, web development, user experience techniques for developing a user interface, database management, testing and user training
  • Generate and/or oversee the development of status reports, project schedule and task assignments, configuration management procedures, user guides, test plans, and administration manuals
  • Performing management responsibilities such as approving timesheets, preparing annual performance reviews, and managing performance issues of employees and subcontractors
Requirements:
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience providing technical leadership in an Agile development environment is highly desired
  • Education requirement:
o BS Degree plus 5 years in a scientific, technical or other related field
OR
o Masters or Doctorate Degree plus 1 year in a scientific, technical or other related field
  • Strong knowledge and experience using MS Project, Visio, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience managing projects using a combination of any the following: Oracle 9i and 11g, MS SQL Server, MS Access, Informatica, JBoss, SharePoint, and Java
  • Experience with Jira as a task tracking tool or similar tool
  • Must be able to obtain agency specific EOD; prefer candidate with active Secret or TS
