Responsible for leading NPI, support and improvement of all electronic manufacturing processes for the production of new and service of existing products. Specifies NRE, tooling requirements and labor estimates in support of RFQ proposals and develops in-depth knowledge of customer’s products as required. Performs detailed DFX reviews and provides analysis reports. Defines process flow, determines quality expectations, approves PIs and serves as the primary technical contact with customers. Takes full manufacturing engineering responsibility of prototype, pilot and production projects to customer expectations. Analyze product and process results to implement continuous improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Interfaces with customer on all product specifications and technical requirements
  • Performs detailed Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and reviews Design for Test (DFT)
  • Establish pFMEA and ensure quality targets exist and are met for each project
  • Manages new product launches; develops plans, coordinates tasks and resources
  • Analyze and document results of process evaluations and prepare technical reports
  • Supports purchasing by specifying and approving part substitutions or alternatives
  • Assist in the development of training and providing training to production personnel
  • Manufacturing support; developing PIs, implements ECNs and coordinates RMAs
  • CAR and NCM analysis, approval and root cause or corrective/preventive action
  • Analyze quality yield and troubleshooting results data to drive continuous improvements

Must have applicable BS degree or equivalent education with 5+ years engineering experience in electronic printed circuit board or systems integration assembly processes

Experience and Skills:
  • Team leadership skills and ability to work effectively with customers
  • Strong knowledge of SMT and PTH PCBA Manufacturing processes
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Minimum 3 years project engineering experience
  • Working knowledge of labor quoting for assembly and test operations
  • Technical knowledge to perform DFM and demonstrated NPI experience
  • Expertise and experience with IPC-A-610 Workmanship Standards
  • Training manufacturing personnel to assemble products to work instructions
  • Ability to develop sound technical solutions to complex problems
  • Communicating effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Works well under pressure, organized and self- motivated
  • Proficient in MS Office and Windows applications
  • Valor, HW or SW design, RF, Lean, SPC, PCB and box build experience a plus
