JOB TITLE: Project Team Lead - Trinity
REPORTS TO: Regional Director and Engineering Manager
SUMMARY: Support Business Development activities, present to customers, ability to explain benefits to engineers and plant operators. Provide Tridefine training to both customers and Trinity engineers. Help with creation of quotes from a technical perspective. Specialist knowledge of safety PLC upgrades an advantage.
The Project Team Lead is a Project Manager position with the additional responsibilities of administratively and technically managing a group of engineers. The position has complete responsibility for the successful design and implementation of assigned projects in the assigned department. Provides advanced knowledge in the creation of unique solutions to resolve complex issues and situations in software development
Communicate directly with all key project personnel including customers, end users, and other third-party firms to establish all project requirements and resolve open issues. Ensure engineering definition and the overall solution is appropriate to the customers requirements and execute the work. Work with other departments during the development of new software products to define product requirements
Coordinate efforts between engineering disciplines, departments, and different engineering areas for the project, taking responsibility for smooth project progress and completion. Brings potential conflicts of resource limitations to the attention of the Director or other department managers.
Allocate specific engineering tasks to other engineers and technicians assigned to the project. Develop engineering competencies of assigned team. Supervises such work to ensure completion in accord with project objectives.
Coordinate with key project personnel for completion of customer correspondence, maintenance of project schedules, and administration of commercial issues.
Take a lead role in the development of key project technologies.
Travel to customer sites or offices up to 20%.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Respond to change productively and handle other duties as required.
PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT AND LEADERSHIP:
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, including Health and Safety, Investors in People, Sarbanes Oxley, Quality Standards, Environmental Policy, and Ethics Policy.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; employee development; Planning, assigning and directing work, apprising performance; rewarding and disciplining, employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Develop skills, through effective management coaching.
Education & Experience:
B.S. in Engineering
Five years of progressively responsible experience in control systems project engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Professionally qualified within country of operation.
Must be/have recent experience in control systems engineering
Knowledge & Skills:
Control strategy development for complex process turbo-machinery
Development of machinery sequencing logic
Implementation of PLCs
Significant field experience in industrial controls
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts to project and development work. Such concepts include expanding exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, permutations and statistical methods.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Domestic and international travel is required.
