Title: Promotions Manager

Pay type: Exempt

Reports to: Sales Manager

The Promotions Manager is responsible for handling the marketing needs of Major Brands’ products through promotions and other related events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead successful execution of overall MBN summary for Distributor and Diageo, utilizing MKTG

Recruit BA’s and provide good leads to MKTG Market Manager to review

Coordinate programs with Perfect Mix classifications or target accounts to ensure exposure at the right accounts at the right time with the right program

Communicate key account targets to MKTG Market Manager

Attend promotions as needed to ensure best overall execution

Lead the sell in of MBN's with sales reps

Communicate sold in accounts to MKTG MM to initiate scheduling

Confirm receipt of program materials and provide reconciliation of inventory upon request and inform of any shortages immediately

Attend Distributor sales meetings to communicate new programs.

Work with Diageo Events Manager, DM and Distributor Sales Supervisors on special events and one-off (Mardi Gras, MOW visits, Trade parties, etc.)

Key account entrenchment and relationship build

Communicate innovative ideas/opportunities to MKTG and Diageo

Comply with Major Brands and Diageo Marketing Code and demonstrate Socially Responsible behavior

Support on-premise crew drives

Special Events / Sponsorships (10%)

Manage execution of Diageo sponsored events to include

Primary contact point with event coordinator

Account set-up meeting Major Brands policy

Product selection, ordering, and payment

POS needs and coordination of merchandisers

Recap and summary with event coordinator

Identify new quality sponsorships or special events that meet strategic brand needs

Manage Diageo educational initiatives with MBN sales force as well as retailers

Reserve Brands (10%)

Identify prestige universe and focus targeted selling efforts against those accounts in coordination with MB sales representative

Quarterly recap of distribution activity and case sales

Establish and manage ongoing tasting and training of Diageo Reserve Brands

Innovation Brand launches (5%)

Coordinate launch meetings



Selling Material

Work with MB supervisors to determine selling needs

Track team and house progress against goals

Major Program Analysis (10%)

Track and update progress against goal of major Diageo Sales programs

Provide updates as needed to STL managers and Sales Representatives

On-Premise National Account Mandatory Compliance (10%)

Monitor distribution levels of Diageo Brand mandates in on-premise National accounts

Work with sales representatives to maintain a 90% compliance level

Provide a quarterly update as to progress against that goal

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required

Associates Degree in related field preferred

Prior sales or marketing experience preferred

Must be at least 21 years of age

Must be quick, intelligent, and adapt well to new situations

Have the ability to listen and connect with customers

Must be creative and able to share ideas

Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills

Communication must always be professional and demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of diverse customers

Must be proficient in using various communication tools and technology to keep customers, peers, and managers apprised of their efforts

Knowledge of the wine and spirit business a plus

Must be highly organized and have the ability to work in an unsupervised environment

Must have the ability to prioritize responsibilities and work effectively, while dealing with a variety of requests throughout the day

Superior research and follow-up skills required

Must have a clear driving record in accordance with Major Brands’ Driving Policy

Ability to lift 40 pounds
