Currently, Meijer is looking for a Promotions Planning Manager.
This position leads in planning, developing and executing a new process designed to gather, initiate jobs, track and communicate Marketing and Advertising messages. Strategic processes, execution accountability and strategic planning processes are dependent upon strong leadership qualities and gaining in-depth knowledge of all Marketing and Advertising tactics. Also ensures the program is consistent with overall Marketing strategies and to positively challenge leadership when necessary in areas of content, content overlap, project deadlines, analysis comprehension and reporting. Works with all levels of leadership to assure consistency in our Marketing plans.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop and execute process to gather, track, plan and communicate Marketing and Advertising tactical content.
Plan promotional activity and content tied to our seasons including circulars, broadcast, digital and other medias
Work with Promotions team to monitor and recommend content changes by market where appropriate.
Manage the coordination and presentation of tactical content to Advertising, Marketing and Merchandising leadership.
Proactively report to leadership on timeliness and schedule compliance of promotional calendar and enforcing deadlines as necessary.
Gather and analyze necessary data information as part of the promotional planning process for the business.
Identify strategic insights as part of the promotional planning process.
Prepare and conduct post-event analysis and seasonal recaps
Prepare and report pre-event and sale projections
Prepare projections for future marketing promotions and measures results
Support leadership in developing and refining planning process.

Bachelor’s degree or commensurate advertising, marketing or retail experience.
5 years of combined experience in Advertising planning, analysis, promotional planning/ analysis or financial planning.
Previous Leadership experience required.
In depth knowledge of promotional strategies and best practices.
Strong ability to gather, manipulate, and interpret data from various resources.
Ability to recognize data integrity issues.
Knowledge of the Retail industry; understanding of Advertising and Marketing tactics.
Knowledge of business drivers (e.g. media, communication, leadership.
Strong communication and presentation skills
Office computer skills; able to learn company systems and tools, preference for Microsoft application experience.
