We are currently recruiting one Property Accountant. A Property Accountant is responsible for all accounting functions related to a multi-family property portfolio and special projects as defined. Job responsibilities include: initiating monthly property closings and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, prepare and analyze property level balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statements, property budgets and forecasts, reconciliations of accounts, create and book property accruals and journal entries, assist with year-end audit. B.S. or B.A. degree in Business Administration or Accounting.
In lieu of a B.S. or B.A. degree, candidates must have three(3) years real estate related industry experience with at least one year of Property Management accounting.
One(1) or more years in a real estate related industry.

General purpose of this job is to provide financial management and prepare timely financial statements, ensuring all schedules and reports accurately reflect the financial activity for each entity for an assigned portfolio of properties. The individual will adhere to established policies and procedures ensuring appropriate internal controls.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review AR including billing adjustments, security deposit refunds, etc. Review and input budgets, as needed. Prepare bank reconciliations. Responsible for ensuring monthly mortgage, land lease, or other recurring monthly payments are processed timely. Prepare applicable sales & use tax form(s) as required. Prepare and enter journal entries – standard, recurring, reversing, adjusting, reclassifications, prepaid rent, accruals, etc.
Responsible for accurate and timely monthly financial statements. Prepare wire transfers as required. Prepare funding requests as required. Prepare residual receipt distributions. Prepare and process monthly fees due – including management fees, asset management fees, development or construction fees, etc. Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly. Prepare compilation, review, or audit packages for auditors annually
Assist with coverage for co-workers as requested by Property Accounting Controller. Assist Property Accounting Controller with special projects as needed.
