Summary: Supports Diplomat's business development activities in several capacities, including writing and coordination of proposal efforts, monitoring potential business development opportunities, such as RFP, and maintaining DSP proposal database by performing the following duties.


Bachelor's degree (B. A. / B. S.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years of experience as a proposal, technical, or a grant writer/coordinator.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinates proposal activity and proposal task sequencing with the organization.
  • Coordinates proposal content acquisition from internal resources.
  • Develops and implements a recurring content review process with subject matter experts.
  • Develops effective methods for presenting and organizing information within proposals, such as the use of tables and graphics.
  • Develops sales materials specific to markets of business to be used in finalist situations.
  • Edits proposal materials or database to eliminate inconsistencies in format or voice, typos, messaging, and grammatical and spelling mistakes.
  • Researches, writes, and updates information in the proposal database, including program descriptions, available services, biographies, and other qualifications materials to address changes in the organization.
  • Monitors the market for RFP opportunities of potential interest to DSP and distributes opportunities to appropriate staff.
  • Assists with other corporate writing, communications, and business development activities as needed.

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Computer Skills:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft products.
