We want to hear from you! christopher consultants, ltd., a leading Civil Engineering Firm, is looking for a Proposal Writer to work full time in our Fairfax, VA office. ccl specializes in civil engineering, land surveying, landscape architecture, and land planning services in the design of residential, retail, office, transit, industrial and municipal projects. DUTIES

The Proposal Writer position is responsible for the development of customized, winning proposals supporting the Management Team and Business Development Team for both proposal and business development efforts. Duties include integrating writing from various sources and developing customized copy to respond to RFIs/RFPs and providing responses to follow-up and clarification questions while ensuring that all information presented in a proposal is accurate, positively reflects the company's capabilities, and meets the RFP/RFI's objectives. This position also supports company Business Development efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of demonstrated technical writing experience related experience in writing and editing proposals, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (B.A. or B.S.) in Technical Writing, Marketing, English or Journalism
  • Experience preparing proposals for the Federal sector strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of business practices and markets related to land development and civil engineering is preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills and must be able to effectively interface with Subject Matter Experts and management at all levels
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize demands and meet deadlines
  • Expert level knowledge of Microsoft office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Analytical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail and collaboration skills.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, both independently and as part of a team
