Psychologist Positions available at the Psychological Evaluation Section of the
New York City Police Department
Exciting, interesting, and important positions currently available providing psychological services to employees of the NYPD (uniformed and civilian). Duties include fitness for duty evaluations of police personnel, trauma debriefings, case monitoring, crisis intervention, special assignment screening and some pre-employment screening. Training and supervision provided. Excellent opportunity for those with a strong interest in forensic evaluations or a desire to learn about this exciting area. This is not a psychotherapy position.
Positions currently available, and there will also be positions available in summer/fall.
1) Immediate position available: This is for a psychologist who has completed internship. Must have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical, counseling, school, forensic, clinical health or neuropsychology from an APA accredited doctoral program; or can be on track for the degree (ABD status).
2) Position available in summer/fall: This is for a psychologist who is presently in an internship. Must have completed 60 graduate credits toward a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical, counseling, school, forensic, clinical health or neuropsychology; two years of full time experience gained after admission to an accredited graduate program, or completion of an APA accredited doctoral program in one of the above areas. (Supervision which meets licensing requirements is provided).
This is a New York City job. Salary is $62,191 to start. There is an additional $4,340 with a New York State Psychology License.
