Psychology Department AA #48-2-330 Psychology Department, Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor with a Ph.D. in Psychology to begin August 2013. The successful applicant will be expected to teach a mass lecture (200+ students) General Psychology course, upper-level courses in their area of expertise, and other courses as needed. Area of specialization is open; the most important qualification is a demonstrated ability to teach the General Psychology course. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in health psychology. Applicants with expertise in human factors-industrial/organizational psychology or psychology of cultural diversity will also be considered. Instructional delivery can occur through traditional, online and alternative methods, and can occur on the main campus or off-site educational locations. Voluntary summer contracts may be available. In addition to teaching, the successful applicant will be expected to establish and maintain an active research program, to involve undergraduate students in such research, and to advise undergraduate students in psychology. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations is preferred. Finalists for the position must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process and/or teaching demonstration, as judged by the department faculty. Recommendation for hiring is needed by the majority of the regular, full-time department faculty.
