The Water Authority is currently seeking candidates for the position of Public Affairs Representative I with an emphasis on community relations. Specifically, this position will support the Water Authority's community outreach program and provide writing support to staff on fact sheets, board memos, newsletters, news releases, website, and various social media channels. Under general direction, this position coordinates the distribution, schedule and content of e-newsletters, attends meetings on behalf of the Water Authority and provides updates via oral report or PowerPoint presentation, and prepares and edits PowerPoint presentations. Finally, this position plans and coordinates large-scale community events and provides staffing support at events coordinated by other organizations.

Community Relations : Serve as liaison/spokesperson with business, industry and community leaders and organizations, and manage written and oral communications between them and Water Authority representatives; make written, oral and PowerPoint reports to the board of directors and other audiences; and support other Public Affairs positions, as appropriate.
The qualification guidelines generally describe the knowledge and ability required to enter the job in order to successfully perform the assigned duties. Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
Graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in public relations, public affairs, journalism, communications, public administration or a closely related field. Requires at least two years of progressively responsible professional experience in the public affairs specialty areas of government, community relations and CIP outreach, media relations, website management, and graphic services similar to those administered by the Water Authority.
