Provides routine record keeping, reception and clerical support for the Department of Arts and History. Assists the Public Art Division with administrative duties and project-based activities. Works under general supervision within established guidelines.
Assists the Public Art Division with administrative duties and project-based activities. Maintains, updates and enters contacts and collections management information into database. Organizes art/artist documentation files. Prepares materials for public art panel review teams. Provides logistical support for framing Boise Visual Chronicle. Prints and sends letters to public art applicants. (75%)
Provides customer service support to department and public, answers phones, and assists staff with exhibitions, programs, and events. (25%)

Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training
Requires education and/or experience to attain the following:
Six months of administrative support experience, and either enrolled as a student, possess a high school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Knowledge of general office practices and telephone etiquette; business English (grammar, punctuation, and spelling); general customer service techniques; basic filing practices.
Ability to operate standard office equipment and computer applications; to enter data accurately; to use alphabetical, numerical, and subject filing systems to accurately enter, classify, file, and retrieve materials; to follow verbal and written instructions; to perform basic mathematical operations; to deal effectively with frequent interruptions; display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of City employees, the general public and other organizations; work independently and effectively with minimal direct supervision as well as part of a team; operate a computer with demonstrated proficiency using related software applications at an appropriate level for efficient job performance; apply basic math skills; read and understand written documents and instructions; receive, comprehend and follow oral instructions; communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; complete assignments in a timely fashion; understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations; maintain prompt and regular attendance; and perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training
One year of administrative support experience in a public agency or other professional office environment.
