USC Media and Public Relations seeks a Director of Media Relations to serve as the first responder to crises and other press issues and provide coverage of a substantial number of beats for visibility in national and local media. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Media and Public Relations, the Director manages four full-time staff members for the media relations, opinion and social media group, assigns stories and press releases, serves as the liaison to other campus departments and leads regular cross-campus meetings of media relations colleagues. The Director works closely with colleagues in news and publications, marketing, development and many other units.
Bachelor's degree Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Minimum Field of Expertise:
Public relations, communications, journalism or related field with supervisory experience.
