Serve as a communication link between the safety net providers and hard-to-reach populations in the community regarding health care needs, screening initiatives for Federal/State health care programs such as Medicaid for pregnancy women, Emergency Medicaid and Medicaid/FAMIS for children. Orient clients about how to gain access to America's health care system, and provide health and community information. Remove barriers to primary and preventive health care by implementing culturally appropriate health education and outreach.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of Greater Richmond community and resources. Excellent interpersonal skills, able to interact well with professional staff and patients; gain acceptance and trust of people and other agencies; maintain patient and family confidentiality. Sensitive to a variety of cultures and background. Bilingual (Spanish-English), fluent in written and oral Spanish. Demonstrated ability to speak clearly with good grammar and diction.Ability to make decisions and perform tasks independently.Knowledge of Federal/State health programs preferred (i.e. Medicaid/Emergency Medicaid for pregnancy women and FAMIS/FAMIS plus for children) Ability to maintain accurate records Comfortable with computers and data entry software. Knowledge of Excel and Word.
