A Bachelor's degree in public health, social/behavioral sciences or the biologic sciences or a related field; OR a Bachelor's degree in any field AND one year of relevant experience. Relevant experience may include: study recruitment, data collection and/or data quality evaluation.
Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, experience with public health surveillance, disease registres or public health laboratory data and working with confidential data. Experience with Excel, Access and SAS or other data analysis packages preferred. Excellent presentation skills.
The incumbent will provide support within the Surveillance Laboratory Analysis and Follow-up Unit regarding recruitment of laboratories for public health required electronic reporting of HIV-related laboratory results and for the evaluation of quality and completeness of submitted laboratory data. Tasks will include contacting, providing information to, surveying and monitoring of laboratories permitted in New York State to conduct HIV-related testing. The successful candidate will also maintain databases/spreadsheets on status of recruitment and data quality. Other duties as assigned
