The Public Relations " Marketing Coordinator is responsible for a wide array of tasks associated with promoting and branding The Mob Museum in an effort to generate awareness in- and out-of-market. The individual in this role is responsible for coordinating daily activities of the Marketing department in order for the department to effectively implement programs as they relate to marketing, public relations and promotions. The PR " Marketing Coordinator will report to the Director of Marketing " PR and play a pivotal role supporting the department and in advancing the public understanding of organized crime ’s history and impact on American society. Major Tasks and Responsibilities: Support all areas of PR and marketing strategy implementation for the Museum.
Work with the Director of Marketing " PR on the development of the annual marketing plan, inclusive of strategic goals, tactics, workplans, budgets, and metrics for tracking and assessing performance. Maximize the success of public relations and marketing initiatives by effectively collaborating with other team members, external agencies, and consultants. Work with the Director of Marketing " PR, as well as PR agencies to develop and implement media outreach strategies to promote The Mob Museum and its programs to local, regional, and national media. Handle requests pertaining to media inquiries, interview appointments, property listings and photography requests in order to create the greatest opportunities for the promotion of The Mob Museum°s positive image and to maintain good relations with media outlets.
Develop and submit for approval internal communications to ensure information is disseminated property-wide for marketing and promotional events. Update the Marketing department calendar and related internal communication documents as needed. Assist with editing, proofing and securing approval of all articles and text for member and event communications Manage all aspects of print production, receipt and distribution. Work with the Marketing Manager and Director of Marketing " PR to manage the Marketing department budget.
Participate in community programs in order to develop opportunities to promote a positive image for the company within the community. Coordinate Marketing guest lists and communications for special events. Oversee the traffic flow of the creative process through graphic request forms for departments outside of Marketing. Prepare invoices and work with accounting on the expense reporting process of the department.
Create, and secure approval, and distribute department forms and procedures. Create and proofread press releases and other external communications. Coordinate and oversee all interviews and photo shoots, including advance internal communications. Conduct Museum tours for media and VIPs as needed.
Coordinate press coverage and photography at events. Work closely with the Museum ’s staff to identify programs and events to promote. Monitor and update The Mob Museum listings both locally and nationally. Manage the press room content and website updates for The Mob Museum.
Develop and manage media contact databases for local contacts, feeder markets media, national media, and international media. Coordinate all media clippings (written and electronic) to provide a monthly recap of PR exposure to the executive team and Board of Directors. Organize and maintain PR tools (e.g. database), PR materials, computer files, and archives.
Monitor and distribute press coverage of The Mob Museum to internal staff. Support special event, marketing, and fundraising activities and logistics. Manage various special projects as needed. Research, maintain, and organize information on competitors and trends.
Participate in fostering an organizational culture that values innovation, promotes inclusion, and inspires excellence in the work environment. Assist management with public relations and marketing duties as needed. Experience / Qualifications / Requirements: At least 2 years of public relations experience in travel tourism, a cultural or entertainment attraction, or related field. Previous experience staffing TV, print, radio, and internet media is required.
Strong knowledge of Las Vegas media is desired. Professional communications experience with social media channels. Strong knowledge of new media and internet marketing is desired. Knowledge of local, regional, and national print and electronic media.
Must be willing and able to work early mornings, evenings and weekends as needed Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent presentation skills. Capability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and external audiences. Ability to deal with a range of styles and behaviors in a tactful, pleasant, and personal manner.
Professional demeanor and conduct in all interactions, both internally and externally. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Ability to manage projects with minimal supervision. Experience with budget development and expense management.
Strong administrative skills and basic software competencies in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Enthusiasm for working in a developing organization where change is frequent, structure is evolving, and flexibility, teamwork, and good humor are absolute necessities. Education: Bachelor ’s degree (or equivalent) in public relations, marketing or a related field is preferred. Salary Range: $35,000 to $50,000
