This position will work with the Director of Public Relations to support a variety of consumer initiatives and will work independently to proactively identify media opportunities, pitching new media members and working to build relationships with key external resources (locally and nationally) which align with the company's brand objectives. In specific, this position will be responsible for: · Managing the day-to-day requests of external PR agencies, supporting product launches and PR initiatives by providing samples, images, product details, timelines, etc. · Fostering internal relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring all requests are fulfilled and product launch strategies (media tours, events, national consumer pitching) are supported to ensure all opportunities are maximized. · Drafting creative pitches, crisp and factual press releases and other public relations collateral as needed to support Consumer PR.
Flexibility in work schedule is also required to work on holidays, weekends and extended hours with minimal notice and as required by operational need. - Assisting with the development and distributing of public relations materials and press kits, responding to and making recommendations for incoming media requests; proactively seeking and pitching additional, relevant media opportunities and influencers for new and existing products with focus on quality vs. quantity. · Participating in the development of forecasts for media opportunities, working to evaluate the ROI and post campaign analytics. · Developing a tracking process to ensure all deadlines and requirements are met; assisting with measuring and reporting on all campaigns, recommending suggestions for change based on ROI.
- Tracking media clippings with our external vendors, ensuring appropriate communication of media as needed. Scope: This position has the ability to make certain day to day decisions within the scope of the position as well as recommend action to a higher authority when decisions are outside the scope of the position. This position is exposed to confidential information related to financial statements, payroll information and strategic initiatives undertaken by the Company. Minimum Requirements: · Bachelors Degree Public Relations/Communication/Journalism or Equivalent Experience.
- 1-3 years experience in a public relations role; preferably within a corporate environment. · Proven attention to detail and a pro-active approach to the work with the ability to work independently or as part of a larger team. · Exceptional written and oral communication skills with the ability to present information concisely and clearly at all levels. · The ability to communicate with diplomacy and tact with internal or external stakeholders at all levels.
