Serves as primary public relations contact for the university. Plans and implements public relations functions to increase awareness of the university's mission and educational programs in order to improve the university's image and create a positive environment to attract students, attract financial contributions, and ultimately expand the university's services to the public.

Responsiblities include:
* Planning, developing, and implementing PR strategies to enhance university image.
* Coordinating and cultivating talking points with key spokespersons.
* Collaborating with Marketing to ensure continuity of message and brand positioning.
* Developing strong media relations and community ties.
* Implementing media pitching strategy to maximize the potential for statewide, regional, and national coverage.
* Generating content and shepherding the storytelling process for university publications including magazines, brochures, press releases, website, e-newsletter, etc.
* Developing an editorial calendar.
* Tracking, collating, and measuring media coverage.
* Assisting in real-time coverage events through social media.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

* Minimum of three years related experience.

Certifications, Registrations, or Licenses
* Must possess a valid driver license.
* Will be expected to obtain and maintain any other certifications necessary to effectively utilize appropriate software to accomplish optimum productivity.
* Affiliation and/or accreditation with professional organization.

Skills, Proficiencies and Knowledge
* Strong verbal communication skills to include one-on-one, group presentation and facilitation skills are essential to candidate's success.
* Excellent written communication and listening skills and customer responsiveness are essential. Must be able to continually incorporate feedback, ideas and requests into the written pieces.
* Commitment to world-class quality, associate-degree-level technical education and a desire to further develop and expand the division to meet the emerging workforce needs of the twenty-first century.
