Serves as primary public relations contact for the university. Plans and implements public relations functions to increase awareness of the university's mission and educational programs in order to improve the university's image and create a positive environment to attract students, attract financial contributions, and ultimately expand the university's services to the public.
Responsiblities include:
* Planning, developing, and implementing PR strategies to enhance university image.
* Coordinating and cultivating talking points with key spokespersons.
* Collaborating with Marketing to ensure continuity of message and brand positioning.
* Developing strong media relations and community ties.
* Implementing media pitching strategy to maximize the potential for statewide, regional, and national coverage.
* Generating content and shepherding the storytelling process for university publications including magazines, brochures, press releases, website, e-newsletter, etc.
* Developing an editorial calendar.
* Tracking, collating, and measuring media coverage.
* Assisting in real-time coverage events through social media.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
