The Westin is a luxury hotel and spa located in Savannah, Georgia and is owned and operated by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. The Hotel, which has received the AAA Four Diamond Award since opening, has over 400 guest rooms and approximately 250 employees. Resort amenities include an 18-hole Championship golf course, Heavenly Spa by Westin, four tennis courts, resort pool and Le Mans-style racetrack. On-site banquet facilities can accommodate over 800 guests, and six restaurants allow plenty of dining choices for our guests.

Job Description

  • Initiates and maintain positive relationships with local, national, and international media in order to generate newsworthy publicity. develops media programs and acts as designated company spokesperson with the media
  • Designs PR objectives and strategies to meet hotel’s goals including key messages targeted publics, company position statements and promotional campaigns. Develops annual department budget to effectively accomplish objectives stated.
  • Manages PR department, ensuring excellent quality of work product consistent with the image and standards of the Hotel. Conducts periodic needs assessment for staff and equipment and makes necessary recommendations to management.
  • Plans and directs the development of all press informational materials, special photography, newsletters and other communication vehicles necessary to publicize and promote the company in general and special programs in particular.
  • Supervises, directs and edits the development (copy, design, and layout) off all collateral products in-house graphic design (promotional flyers, brochures, menus, guest information pieces, signs, forms, invitation, etc.).
