The PR Manager will work to advance cross-company corporate, product, and research-related PR initiatives. The PR Manager will report to the PR director and take over day-to-day management of the PR agency as well as work closely with the Content Marketing/Social Media and Events Marketing teams. This role is a tremendous opportunity for an ambitious, self-starter that can pitch a reporter while simultaneously ghost-drafting an executive byline and approving the PR agency team’s latest product launch plan. In other words being organized, proactive and able to expertly multi-task are a must!
Manage media relations strategy and execution
Create and review external communications including but not limited to press releases, written statements, Q&As, bylines, award submissions and speaking abstracts
Develop and manage media relationships and coordinate outreach efforts
Manage news pipeline – work with the agency team to create compelling news hooks, working effectively with product management, product marketing, sales, and other business units as applicable
Oversee baseline PR programs, such as awards and speaking
Support ongoing PR reporting and success metrics
Desired Skills and Experience:
Existing relationships with relevant media, analysts and influencers, both industry/trade and business
Proven experience managing PR and Industry Analyst programs
Successful track record of planning and executing successful corporate and product PR campaigns and programs
Experience planning, developing and successfully implementing thought leadership programs
Solid writing skills (samples required)
Extremely well organized and detail oriented
Thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment – driven, can-do attitude with little-to-no hand holding
Computer proficiency and knowledge of PowerPoint, Microsoft Office and working knowledge of blog, social network and collaboration platforms
Must be creative with outstanding written communication skills, problem solving and analytical abilities
Must be adaptive, personable and willing to work outside the defined scope to produce results
Strong communication and project management skills are required.
Thorough knowledge of AP style
PR agency experience a plus
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications or equivalent experience
5-7 years corporate or agency enterprise tech PR experience
