This position is open only to:|
(1) Current Montgomery County Government employee;
(2) Montgomery County employee who was affected by reduction-in-force and currently have RIF priority rights;
(3) Active Montgomery County local fire and rescue department volunteers with at least 50 points under the length of service award program; or
(4) Active Customized Employment Public Interns, QUEST Interns, Project SEARCH Interns or former Customized Employment Public Interns, QUEST Interns, or Project SEARCH Interns within 24 months of completion of internship
Employee will be responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks in two or more skilled trades such as Portland cement construction, brick and block masonry construction, electric arc welding and/or oxyacetylene welding, carpentry and steel reinforcement installations, tree removal. Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds. Overtime required during inclement weather. Additional Employment Information

Education : Ability to read and write.
Experience : Four (4) years of semi-skilled experience in building/structural construction, maintenance, repair and alteration involving the application of two or more skilled trades.
Equivalency : None
License : Possession of a valid Class "B" Commercial Driver's License ( CDL ) as prescribed by Maryland State requirements. Preferred Criteria
All applicants who meet minimum qualifications confirmed by OHR will be scheduled for a written/skills examination. Based on the results of the examination, applications will be rated "Did Not Pass," "Qualified," or "Well Qualified." The highest rated applicants will be placed on the Eligible List.
