The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Albany Medical College is seeking a Pulmonary and Critical Care physician to play a major role in our Medical Critical Care service. The successful candidate will be board eligible or board certified in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine; and eligible for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
The position requires interest thoracic and critical care ultrasound techniques and in the conduct of clinical, translational, or basic science research. The Division directs a Fellowship training program and has unique faculty expertise in thoracic/critical care ultrasound, cystic fibrosis, sarcoidosis, lung cancer and interventional critical care medicine.
Albany Medical College is one of the nation's oldest medical schools, having been founded in 1837, and is affiliated with the Stratton VA Medical Center across the street. Albany Medical Center Hospital is the only academic tertiary and quaternary care hospital in the Capital District region of New York, serving a referral base of 2.5 million people. The Medical Center is embarking on a major growth campaign, and construction is underway for a new 160-bed patient tower with an additional 40-50 ICU beds.
