The Division of Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) invites applicants for a faculty position in interventional pulmonology. The candidate chosen will have performed a residency in Internal Medicine and be fellowship-trained in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine. In addition the candidate must have completed comprehensive training in interventional pulmonology.

Qualifications: The successful candidate must have comprehensive training in all aspects of interventional bronchoscopy including rigid bronchoscopy, electrocautery, laser bronchoscopy, and all types of endobronchial stent placement. The candidate must be trained in pleural disease techniques including pleuroscopy, pleural ultrasound, and long-term tunneled pleural catheters. The candidate should also be proficient in diagnostic techniques such as endobronchial ultrasound and navigational bronchoscopy. Additional training in percutaneous tracheostomy is also required. The successful candidate must have proven skills relevant to the practice of Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine, including significant clinical experience in general medical critical care as well as interest and experience in clinical research particularly in the area of interventional pulmonology. Finally, the candidate must have a demonstrated history of excellence in medical teaching. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
