Job Description:Primary Function:
Prepare associated paperwork, including nameplates,
detrash, perform associated manual and machining
operations, subassembly, final assembly, test and
button-up of Pump Motor Package (PMP) units, large
designated skydrol units, F-16 retrofit units and other
designated high volume pump families.

Working Procedures:
Prepare traveler package, assign serial numbers,
generate traceability paperwork, initiate QC-203s,
create nameplates.
Detrash the kit from the stockroom, perform floor stock
maintenance, cycle count floor stock, initiate short
requisitions and over-issue tickets.
Perform all subassembly operations; machines and tools
included and are not limited to: lathe, presses, flat
lap, polish, drill press, plating, honing,
stick-lapping, ringlapping, inspection, heli-coiling,
lee-plugging, o-ring installation, torquing, potting &
adhesive, electrical soldering.
Perform all of the final assembly tasks: similar to the
subassembly tasks.
Performing all test associated tasks: set up of test
stand, set up of product, performing the hydraulic test,
and performing electrical testing (Dielectric &
Insulation resistance).
Button up: nameplate application, lockwire, painting and
masking, mechanical removing of cosmetic defects, and
alodining.
Works with minimum of supervision.
Sets up and prepares work areas.
Is able to perform tasks in other work areas.
Works from complex blueprints and assembly processes.
Can utilize personal computers to obtain proper
documentation (paperless operation).
Maintains in good working order tools, jigs, inspection
devices and other supplies and performs simple equipment
repairs as necessary.
Production output shall meet or exceed established
standards and shall conform to prescribed quality.
Trains fellow employees as required.
Participates in “continuous improvement”
activities/efforts with the classification/department.

Job Requirements:
Must be a certified tester through the certified tester
program (includes passage of applicable tests).
  • Must be certified in O-ring Installation, Torque
Application, Lockwire, Silver Plating, Electrical
Soldering, and Hose Fabrication.
  • Must have good knowledge of shop mathematics.
  • Must have solid knowledge of inspection and layout
techniques and manual equipment.
  • Must have good knowledge of metal removal processes
(manual machine), machine usage, feeds and speeds for
common aerospace materials, proper use of coolants.
  • Must be able to maintain and sharpen metal removal
tooling (ie: use of monoset).
  • Must be able to hone, stick-lap, ring lap, and flat
lap parts to process. Must be able to maintain lapping
equipment.
  • Must have good eyesight or corrected vision to exactly
read gages and prints.
  • Must be able to handle the physical requirements of
the job which can involve lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to work with all machining coolants and
hydraulic oils (ie: Hone Oil, Skydrol, etc.).
