Position summary:
Organizes and schedules activities related to purchasing machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, or services necessary for the smooth operation and production. Coordinates and records warehouse inventories of the raw or semi-finished materials for the “Just-in-time” manufacturing.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reviews requisitions and negotiate with vendors to obtain information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
  • Researches and evaluates potential vendors in order to assure product quality while keeping the cost reasonable
  • Consults with QA. and R&D to select products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items
  • Estimates values according to knowledge of market price and conduct negations with vendors
  • Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data to determine reasonable prices
  • Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid
  • Prepares and adjust purchase orders and bid requests that follows ISO 9000 and ISO 14001 procedure
  • Monitor shipments and verify inventory numbers to ensure scheduled production
  • Maintains files of commodities and files data by vendor and prepares weekly and monthly Quality Report
  • Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories
  • Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action
  • Expedites delivery of goods to users
Requirements:

  • Experience or knowledge using a MRP system
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs and metric conversion
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to successfully coordinate with other departments and with vendors
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, & Word
Education & Experience Requirements:
Prefer Bachelor or associates degree in business or equivalent or three to five years of related experience in purchasing position
