Outreach and Online Learning is looking for a person to support a dynamic purchasing position primarily supporting the University’s goal of growing our student enrollment to 45,000 for the World Campus. This person will be involved with coordinating the procurement of a diverse set of commodities ranging from IT to marketing resources to contract employees. This person will be responsible for knowing both the University’s purchasing process and the broad range of groups in Outreach and Online Learning focused on achieving the University’s aggressive goal. In addition, this person will advise faculty and staff in interpreting and adhering to best practices for purchasing and the University’s purchasing guidelines and policies. The ideal candidate will have a purchasing background and solid contract review and management experience. Further, this person will assist in advising and consulting with faculty and staff, department heads, deans and administrative offices on the development of RFPs and RFQs. Initiate, support and encourage the collaboration on existing and potential strategic and cross disciplinary initiatives among Outreach staff. Serve as liaison with Purchasing and other University offices on behalf of faculty and staff. Assist in modifying procedures to meet changing regulations and University policies. This position requires flexibility, humor, strong communication skills and comfort working in a team environment. This job will be filled as a level 1, or level 2, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 1. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Knowledge of University reporting tools such as Data Warehouse and FIT are a plus and database and spreadsheet expertise are required. Database and spreadsheet expertise are required. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
