Senior Manager POS Purchasing
Manage and procure Point of Sale (POS) promotional printed materials, customer premiums and displays.
Manage promotional project requisitions through sourcing, negotiating, planning, executing and monitoring individual items until complete and delivered to POS Warehouse.
Obtain and purchase materials considering the guidelines or price, service, quality and delivery.
Select and direct appropriate vendors and interface with design agency. Maintain relationships with vendors to enhance the buying process.
Generate and Submit Purchase orders
Conduct value analysis of currently procured materials to achieve cost savings without sacrificing essential performance characteristics.
Search market for new and alternative products/materials to increase efficiency and profitability.
Analyze market conditions and report on issues significantly affecting availability and costs of major purchased materials.
Maintain effective communication with other departments, plant personnel and marketing managers.
Investigate any issues or problems with suppliers who have caused company losses.
Reconcile short ships and other delivery issues
Identify and resolve Accounts Payable issues
Ensure all goods and services receipts are entered in a timely manner]
Manage integrity of data for PO’s.
Administer an approved vendor list for assigned materials based on criteria from the following: Conduct vendor visits and apply comprehensive checklists. Periodically review vendor performance. Make recommendations to add or change suppliers.
Research issues impacting material quality, design, supply and cost. Research new packing designs and changes.
Participate, lead and manage project teams and activities. Responsible for assisting with project implementation and the end result.
Ensure that systems, processes and reports meets all requirements established within Sarbanes Oxley Act.
Monitor and update weekly POS Status Report with current information to keep marketing up to date.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in business related discipline or equivalent experience
Minimum five years experience in purchasing, preferably in packaging components.
Excellent communication skills.
Good organizational and negotiation skills.
Strong analytical skills.
