Job Summary

Responsible for choosing the best suppliers, negotiating the best price, provides recommendations and industry analysis, contract scheduling and negotiations, builds relationships with internal and external customers.

Principal Accountabilities Required by Job (In Order of Importance)

Negotiate verbally, in-person and through electronic communication with vendors for the best price and delivery for each purchase including service agreements. Select top bidders and negotiate further reduction in pricing.

Present recommendations in excel listing comparative bids, potential cost savings and final determination.

Advance and maintain industry knowledge for all commodities including expected price increase/decrease and how that impacts the timing of our purchases and scheduling of our contract negotiations.

Receive, verify, match, code, and process invoices for payment. Includes resolving discrepancies with quality, quantity, pricing and gauging user satisfaction.

Analyze data to ensure that quality and other company initiatives are met by testing, researching, observing and/or examining items.

Decision Making

Processing of invoices for payment

Interact with suppliers on a day to day basis

Develops strong relationships with internal and external customers and vendors

Prepare recommendations analyzing competitive bids

Provide monthly industry analysis of commodities

Monthly projected savings report

Project ideas for cost and time savings

Industry analysis

Minimum Jobholder Requirements

Education: Bachelors degree in business or related field (preferred)

Related Experience: 0-2 years working in a similar position

Training or Competence: Negotiation skills, analytical skills, organizational skills, written and oral communication skills, accuracy, ability to work independently and in a team environment, adaptability to change, critical thinking and problem solving skills, prioritize effectively with a sense of urgency, maintain confidentiality.

Equipment Operated: Computer, phone, copier/scanner/fax

Computer/ Software Skills: Microsoft Excel & Word, Lotus Notes
