This position will consist of working with suppliers to negotiate terms and conditions and pricing, meeting the delivery expectations of project and management of W/M/DBE program specific to project guidelines. Additional duties consist of product and equipment research, purchase order generation and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualified candidates must have at least five years of professional experience in a buyer/purchasing agent role in the utility construction industry, specifically concrete and/or tunnel construction, and have a proven track record of demonstrated cost savings. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field strongly preferred. Knowledge of construction materials and equipment specific to the tunneling or civil industries is beneficial. Other qualifications include effective oral and written communication capabilities, strong negotiation skills and proven organizational methodology. Must also be able to work in a fast paced work environment, achieve results under pressure, and be able to multi-task. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is mandatory.
