This position will purchase and manage the inventory of all production materials for the Plant level. As a member of the local Operations team, this position will ensure quality and service while reducing total cost of ownership for the business.
Purchase production materials that meet or exceed the quality specifications and cost standards required by the local Operation’s business.
Responsible for maintaining all operation supplies per monthly budget and actively addressing any issues.
Manage keep stock (PPE & Janitorial supplies) program with outside vendor.
Support procurement in reconciling matrix and SAP daily.
Matching all incoming packing slips and invoices for Operation supplies to PO for accounting.
Identify additional cost savings opportunities with local Operations and with CLP team.
Manage internal and external material inventories to optimize total cost to the business.
Interface with all other site functions as needed to improve material effectiveness as it pertains to quality, productivity and recovery.
Maintain necessary documents in support of local Accounting initiatives.
Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
Adhere to all safety polices and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
1-3 years purchasing experience preferred
Inventory Management System experience preferred
SAP experience preferred
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and in group situations. Ability to respond to questions from internal/external customers/vendors at all levels including management.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, fractions, ratios. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
Ability to read, write and speak English
