The Purchasing Data Analyst provides decision/information support to the Purchasing organization. The scope includes managing and enhancing reporting processes to ensure timely and accurate forecasts, spend visibility reports, performance tracking, and other ad hoc reports for Central Purchasing and 27 business units. This position works closely with the Finance team to gather information and communicate the Purchasing forecast. The position will assist the Purchasing organization in its management of $2B in spend. The position requires the management and prioritization of pre-established time sensitive tasks and ad hoc requests. The successful candidate will have a strong financial analysis background, exceptional communication and presentation skills, and an ability to merge diverse business requirements into a single cohesive and meaningful set of purchasing metrics. Must possess an inquisitive and investigative mind and have the ability to learn quickly, be flexible and contribute to a team effort. Models and acts in accordance with Domtar guiding principles, ethics standards and safety requirements.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Collaborate with Contract Managers to develop the Purchasing Forecast.

Understand cost drivers for major inputs and effectively communicate overall impact.

Author and edit the Purchasing Quarterly Report to communicate purchasing activities, priorities, and forecasts to Senior Management.

Manage and enhance spend visibility program. Provide spend visibility reports to Central Purchasing and other business units. Identify cost savings opportunities.

Review new business proposals; identify issues, risk and opportunities.

Compile data from SAP to report inventory reduction efforts. Work with 27 business units to meet inventory reduction goals.

Prepare presentations to effectively communicate purchasing led initiatives to other departments.

Manage SharePoint site to improve information sharing for current contracts, standardization templates, savings tracking, and other initiatives.

Assist the purchasing team in responding to internal and external audits.

Develop and manage supplier diversity program.

Deliver ad hoc report requests.

Your profile:
Summary of Experience
Bachelor’s degree
Applicable industry experience
Experience within supply chain (preferred)

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience working with relational databases
Ability to use Excel’s advanced data functions
Experience working with SharePoint
SAP Reporting Experience - Data browser, SAPQuery, BW
SAP business module knowledge - MM & FI

You must successfully complete a selection process that includes interviews, aptitude tests (for some positions), criminal background investigation, references verification and pre-employment drug-screening.
