DESCRIPTION

Insure supply and product availability throughout the hotel. Make sound purchasing decisions according to pre-determined specifications. Purchase based on value, quality, service, and price.

DUTIES

1.Be responsible for food, beverage, housekeeping, set-up, banquet, and maintenance supplies, office supplies, and equipment.
2.Make purchasing decisions based on anticipated flow of business and be responsible for expediting orders on a timely basis.
3. Check all items received for accuracy in price.
4.Be responsible for rotation, storage, and security of all products. Date products when they are received.
5.Work within the three quote system of purchasing products.
6.Negotiate better pricing on all quantity purchases.
7.Be accountable for the availability of products for all planned functions. It may be necessary to drive to pick up a product.
8.Complete inventory on a monthly basis. All pricing must be current each month and inventory handed in to accounting within 3-5 working days.
9.Receiving and shipping of all UPS and Federal Express packages for guests and the company.
10.Plan the purchasing needs of the hotel based on our scheduled functions and room counts. Follow up by purchasing products for those needs.
11.Follow up on purchasing requests from various department heads and get approval on all expenses.
12.Plan ahead for acquiring information on new menu items, special events, holidays, etc. to allow enough time for the salesperson to follow up with the needed information or product.
13.Math and reading skills required.
14. Comply with all other tasks deemed necessary by management.
15. Comply with all aspects of the current Employee Handbook

QUALIFICATIONS

High school or equivalent education required. College preferred. Computer skills helpful.

Minimum of 2-4 years of purchasing experience.

Hospitality experience a plus.
