Bachelors degree is preferred

The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for planning, directing and managing the procurement of quality supplies and equipment for the Health System. Responsible for the functional coordination of respective areas within the department, other Health System entities, affiliates and outside resources/vendors.
Plans, directs and coordinates the procurement of supplies and equipment for Health System entities; works with personnel to ensure requested items meet quality and purpose standards.
Coordinates communications and purchasing activities with multiple vendors and health care resources.
Assures the standards of operation of the department are in compliance with regulatory agencies such as the State Department of Health, Joint Commission, AAMI, and OSHA.
Interviews, selects, promotes, counsels, resolves conflicts, and disciplines employees according to Human Resources policies and in consultation with the Director.
Conducts progress reviews and performance appraisals for assigned staff.
Establishes, implements, and maintains policies and procedures for purchasing activities.
Directs the overall preparation of the purchasing aspect of the budget including identifying labor standards.
Requirements: Associate's degree in Business Administration or related area required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible experience in materials management or purchasing required. Prior supervisor experience desired.
