General Summary: Is responsible for overseeing the operation of all workstations and the narcotics CII safe. Directs the filling, emptying, and configuring of the dispensing units and also runs reports and monitors narcotic use. Completes data backup for the system and is the main narcotics operations technician for the director. Trains all technicians and pharmacists on the operations of the CII safe, Pyxis workstations and Pyxis PC. Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.
Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent. Pharmacy Technician Certification . Some college or computer school preferred. Minimum of 5 years experience encompassing both Certified Pharmacy Tech and computer operations. Must be able to do simple mathematics. Proficient in computer software programs, including Word â and Excel â . Must be able to use equipment: telephone, typewriter, calculator, computer, printers, facsimile, photocopier, Pyxis â and Pyxis Connect â . Able to communicate effectively, speak, write, and comprehend English well enough to train nurses and make adjustments to workstations working with the unit staff and other pharmacy members. Capable of lifting up to 35 pounds. Must have good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Must have visual accuracy and auditory acuity. Frequent use of computers and standing most of the day. Frequent disruptions in work related to customer phone calls.
