Job Summary Perform Quality Assurance activities on software development projects, providing business value by identifying software defects and ensuring that software work products meet specifications and business expectations. Produce Quality Assurance deliveries that support project QA objectives: test analysis, test strategy & approach, test designs, test plans & scripts.
Job Description The QA Analyst is expected to take ownership of the quality of one or more applications while conducting QA development processes, developing test solutions, and assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of new practices and testing standards. Specific activates include analyzing business requirements and design documents for completeness and testability; identifying and documenting a test strategy (i.e. test plans, scripts, environments, data setup, etc.); create estimates for system test preparation and execution; capturing test metrics; perform and coordinate system verification test activities utilizing various tools such as HP Quality Center; capture and report on system defects; and summarize system test findings. It is desired that the analyst be able to recognize automation opportunities, design and build automation test plans; and develop automated test modules (i.e. QTP or other programming languages).
Required Skills This position assists in testing components of large to very complex projects and may report progress to key stakeholders. This position will collaborate with the QA Test Lead to estimate project testing costs and resource needs. Will manage and implement internal QA project activities that include the communication of plans, schedule, baselines, and metrics to stakeholders and the team; manages progress to plan and makes necessary adjustments; and employs management tools.
Additional Skills Mercury QTP - Beginner (desired, but not a minimum requirement). HP Quality Center - Beginner (desired, but not a minimum requirement). Microsoft Office - Advanced. SQL Language - Beginner.
Interpersonal Skills Ability to work collaboratively on a project team; eliciting information, analyzing both structured and unstructured information to obtain clarity and understanding. Ability to communicate findings and results of analysis effectively in discussion and in written form.
Work Environment Office environment with individual cubicle work stations. Collaborative style work on software development projects with project team members with varying roles.
