Lead our software quality assurance team in ensuring the quality of our innovative web-based healthcare solutions that improve the quality and cost of patient care.

The QA Director will develop and implement a QA strategy to further automate testing, to robustly cover testing with 3rd party integrations, to improve upon performance testing, and to define and report on quality metrics to measure the ongoing success of the QA team (# of hot fixes per release, etc).
The goal of the QA team is act as members of the delivery teams to ensure the quality of software development and minimize the defects in production environment while achieving on-time delivery in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The QA Director reports to the CTO, and is responsible for:
• directing all lifeIMAGE’s Software Quality Assurance Initiatives
• representing the Quality Assurance perspective to other management
• defining goals and incentives for the QA team
• working with the QA Manager to manage a local and off-shore team
• providing QA status to the rest of management
• integrating Quality Assurance into a newly adopted Agile process
• establishing, monitoring, and improving product quality metrics, maintaining QA documentation.

Responsibilities
• Design a process with incentives that motivate the QA team that ensures the highest quality for product delivery.
• Oversees QA projects, balance QA resources, and maintain product quality metrics.
• Oversee a team that understands the product requirements and develops test plans, scripts, and test cases to meet those requirements.
• Manages a budget and personnel of highly skilled Quality Assurance Engineers
• Reviews test plans, scripts, and test cases written by the team members.
• Participates in test script execution whenever necessary.
• Reviews test results, metrics, and quality trends.
• Work with engineering leads to coordinate development and testing activities.

Requirements
• Experience in directing the activities of a distributed Software QA team that delivers healthcare software
• Hands-on experience in manual or automation testing for software products
• Participation in Agile software development methodology
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and organization skills
• HL7, and medical image management
• Knowledge of Java, SQL and relational database technologies
• Preferred knowledge of DICOM
• Experience with web technologies: HTML, JSP, JSON, CSS, etc.
• Knowledge of testing scalability and performance on software products and systems, with working knowledge of automation testing frameworks
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent of 5+ years experience, 3+ years managing a team
• Experience working in a startup company a plus
