The Test Engineer III provides technical assistance and often performs as a team leader. The Test Engineer III is expected to share Subject Matter Expertise in one or more related areas. Additionally, the Test Engineer III is responsible for cultivating and applying an understanding of Lowe’s development and testing methodology, policies, standards, internal controls, and external controls. The Test Engineer III interacts with the other IT delivery groups, IT business liaisons, and business representatives to analyze requests, accurately size, plan, deliver, and support the required effort.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Develops and maintains a complete picture view of the project, it’s dependencies, automation goals, and technology
• Provides Technical Leadership for Quality Services
• Assists with overall Test Strategy/Test Plans for large and complex projects
• Provides technical knowledge to Automation team to support Automation Test Plan development and estimates
• Validates Automation requirements and seeks clarity from project management, stakeholders, and business
•Plans proof of concepts and demos for new applications
• Maintains overall application(s) knowledge and is able to support Automation Test Team
• Analyzes testing technologies and makes appropriate suggestions to enhance and guide the testing direction
• Continuously researches emerging technologies to improve Quality Services’ processes
• Ensures high quality implementations through the application of Lowe’s methodologies and procedures including adherence to internal and external controls
• Experience in SOA, SDLC, Waterfall, and Agile methodologies
• Participates in project planning
• Oversees temporal, and deliverable scopes of projects
• Reviews and approves deliverables prepared by the team to include code reviews and standardization
• Ensures documents are complete, current, and stored in appropriate location
• Identifies process improvement areas to minimize the potential of recurring issues
• Serves as test lead for projects that may involve major technical or testing changes
• Manages end to end effort coordination for efforts assigned by a manager. This includes facilitating across onshore leads for impacted areas, communicating overall schedule, tracking status and completion of test deliverables across teams
• Interacts with 3rd party vendors
• Manages the day to day activities of operational and technical support duties of the entire team.
Facilitates defect triage and test status sessions
• Assigns staff to fulfill project resource requirements
• Ensures that all the team members get the KT to provide Testing Environment Support
• Participates on project teams to effectively communicate the operational requirements to ensure effective project/technology transition
•Advanced knowledge of testing methodologies / processes
• Bachelor’s degree or comparable job-related experience
• 5-10 years of leadership experience
• Strong planning skills
• Proven systems design experience
• Strong communication skills
• Good interpersonal, conflict resolution and customer service skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline-driven environment
