Position Objective: The Quality Assurance Manager's role is to plan, coordinate, and manage all test activities related to design, development, and execution of software application releases to ensure the requirements and specifications are met. The Quality Assurance Manager establishes and implements standards and best practices to ensure the highest degree of software quality, works to deliver project results and value to the business and its clients, and demonstrates knowledge of all phases of the software development life cycle.
Forecasts resourcing and staffing needs and effectively utilizes all available resources Recruits, coaches and mentors onshore and offshore QA staff Manages QA teams performance and recommends training when required Coordinates with development managers, analysts, project managers, and QA engineers to ensure quality management processes are incorporated through all phases of software development Participates in project definition, including analysis, user story creation, test plan creation, and design walk-throughs Estimates quality assurance efforts Works with configuration management, development, database administrators and others to insure appropriate test environment set-up and data population Works with team to develop and execute effective and efficient test plans, conditions and test scripts Identifies and mitigates project and process risks Actively resolves and overcomes testing issues and bottlenecks Ensures timely and cost-effective testing according to specifications Creates and publishes test metrics and dashboards for each project Ensures applications have minimal defects and adhere to company standards Implements lessons learned into process improvements Ensures testing processes support company goals and SDLC standards Manages concurrent projects Performs other related duties as required or requested
College degree or the equivalent in related work experience At least 5-10 years experience leading IT organizations in quality assurance with multi-platform experience: Linux, Unix, Windows, Mainframe, Data warehouse, Informatica Experience with functional, integration testing and end to end testing with external entities Exposure to load testing, performance testing, infrastructure testing, disaster recovery, and BCP 5+ years experience in creating and implementing quality assurance processes: RTM, Test Scenarios, Test Cases, Test Plans, Issue Tracking mechanism , Bug Tracking mechanism and project schedules Solid understanding of manual and automated testing, SDLC, reuse, and repeatable processes Excellent understanding of test methodologies Experience in P&C insurance underwriting, policy administration, claims, billing, and financials Strong communication skills Key Competencies:
