Basic Purpose:
Perform sampling of Raw Materials, Packaging Components and Printed Materials. Candidate must be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs. able to work in a confined septic environment, and must able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
· Support the Elizabeth and Edison site by performing the required Quality Assurance Incoming Sampling/Inspection functions of Raw Materials, Packaging Components and Printed Materials.
· Sampling of incoming controlled and non-controlled raw materials.
· Inspect and Proof read printed material manually or using an electronic proof reading program.
· Performing testing of packaging components (i.e. bottles, caps,cotton/rayon, polybags etc.).
· Filing of QA retain samples and filling of sample requests
· Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
· Must have the ability to learn and navigate multiple electronic data bases.
· Working knowledge of cGMP's in the pharmaceutical industry.
· Must be well organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in working with minimal supervision.
· Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
· Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel.
· Ability to interact with all levels of the Organization. Ability to foster and work in a team environment.
· Must be able to travel between New Jersey Actavis Sites.
· Must be able to work in a team environment.
Equipment and Applications
· Electronic Inventory Tracking Systems (e.g. QAD/WDMS/Trackwise/QUMAS)
· Hand and Power jacks.
· Hand tool (e.g. pliers, sampling thieves, bunch wrench etc.)
Work Environment and Physical Demands
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; able to work in a confined septic environment; sitting/standing for long periods; ability to operate a PC; ability to wear PPE (personal protective equipment)
Education/Training/Work Experience
· High School Diploma, 1-2 years of QA experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry.
· Posses good Verbal and writing skills, working with various databases as well as MS office applications (word and excel) QAD and WDMS
