YOUR ROLE

The Interactive QA Specialist provides quality assurance/quality control for a variety of interactive marketing materials aimed at consumers in a fast-paced advertising agency environment. He/she has a sharp eye for online editing and interactive testing of Web interfaces.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary interactive formats and responsibilities include:
Flash banner ads – verifying click tags, speed, loop, and file size on PC and Mac platforms, checking copy content for accuracy and consistency with in-house and client-mandated guidelines, writing error reports for distribution to the team

HTML Landing Pages – verifying links, testing in different browsers (Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer), testing on both PC and Mac operating systems, identifying potential end user navigation issues, checking copy content for accuracy and consistency with in-house and client mandated guidelines, writing error reports for distribution to the team

Email – verifying links in Text, Rich Text, and HTML formats, testing in different browsers (Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer), testing on both PC and Mac operating systems, testing using different email clients (eg, Hotmail, Yahoo), checking copy content for accuracy and consistency with in-house and client mandated guidelines, writing error reports for distribution to the team

Web sites – verifying pages following master site map, verifying links, testing in different browsers (Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer), testing on both PC and Mac operating systems, identifying potential end user navigation issues, checking copy content for accuracy and consistency with in-house and client mandated guidelines, writing error reports for distribution to the team

Participates in quality improvement initiatives

Informs team about end user preference statistics (eg, browser prevalence among users, PC vs Mac users) and usability best practices.

Communicates any potential quality issues to the QA Manager.

Reviews and provide corrective feedback on all Web assets pertaining to client deliverables, including copy, images, captions, navigation, linking, and interface usability.

Organizes, executes, and documents User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts.

Writes test cases, test plans and procedures.

Provides precise, accurate and actionable feedback to development groups regarding product defects.

Works with various departments to ensure all tests are successfully completed.

Works with Proofreading/QA department manager, project managers, developers, and account teams to ensure quality processes are followed, and help fine-tune areas in processes where quality issues occur.

Required Skills

REQUIRED SKILLS

EXPERIENCE

Knowledgeable in the design and production of interactive media

At least 2 years experience as a quality assurance tester or quality control inspector for digital media

2-3 years of online marketing and/or agency experience

Good command of the English language, with respect to grammar and vocabulary, to aid in editing materials and documenting processes

Effective communication/interpersonal skills to work across teams and disciplines

Strong documentation skills with experience in writing and storing of test case procedures

Ability to multitask to meet deadlines

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree required
