Key Accountabilities .
To assist the Manager, Quality Assurance in directing quality assurance and food safety activities toward the accomplishment of Company objectives.
Provides ongoing training and development of all employees concerning product quality, customer satisfaction and compliance with established Good Manufacturing Practices.
Ensures all incoming raw materials are inspected, tested, and approved as required. Reviews Certificate of Analysis documents for incoming raw materials. Ensures compliance and takes appropriate corrective action when a deviation occurs.
Maintains and verifies documents from Production, QA, Maintenance, and Sanitation. Makes important observations of product and process deviations and takes prompt and appropriate corrective actions.
Performs necessary laboratory tests (product, raw material, packaging, microbiological, environmental) on an ongoing, as needed basis, including timely recording and distribution of all test results.
Maintains a record-keeping system which provides immediate access to past data in clearly marked folders/archive boxes, etc., and updates records a minimum of every year.
Conducts daily sensory evaluations on product throughout the plant. Scores, documents, and communicates findings
Responsible for the selection and distribution of finished product and raw materials for evaluation by an outside laboratory or customer when necessary.
Responsible for the recording and investigation of customer complaints. Submits summary to Manager, Quality Assurance on a timely basis.
Responsible for investigating deviations and non-conformities. Maintaining logs and documenting corrective actions
Conducts weekly self-inspections and attends all regularly scheduled Management Review, Quality, and Safety meetings as assigned by the Manager, Quality Assurance.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and two-way communication with co-workers and other personnel throughout the Company.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Education: B.A. or B.S. degree in Food Science or related field
Years of Experience: 1-4 years Quality Assurance and/or food related experience
Language Skill: N/A
Computer/Software Skills: Microsoft Office Suite
