Performs analysis on in-process and finished products to ensure specifications are met. Places defective product on hold in accordance with procedures. Resolves and reports defect issues. Interacts with other departments to communicate testing results. Position Responsibilities Test samples of finished product for salt, moisture, color and count per pound.
Measure samples for physical dimensions; length, width, diameter etc. To be done for products with specifications in regards to dimensions.
Test finished product for break strength whenever appropriate.
Examine product for overall quality, wrinkles, blisters, crystallization etc.
Verify item #, code date and description on bag and case labels
Perform net weight audit of finished product, verify bag seal integrity, test PDQ and verify UPC# on bag.
Test metal detectors with standards to verify calibrations.
Document and record all test results
Whenever any test result is out of specification, inform the Production Supervisor and perform the appropriate retest.
Whenever necessary place product on QC Hold. Position Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
At least 1 year experience in food related plant operations
Requires knowledge of and adherence to all food safety and quality standards and any other company policies and guidelines.
Requires basic mathematical skills to be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide
Requires computer literacy and fluency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook
Requires proficiency in verbal and written communication skills in English
Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends

Individual will be working in loud processing and packaging areas
