We depend on our QA testers to efficiently and effectively analyze software solutions for 100% successful operation in our client’s environment from the day of installation. As a QA Tester, you will be responsible for analyzing software requirements and developing test cases and test scripts. You will execute test scripts while building and maintaining test environments. Specifically, you will:
Perform defect tracking and maintenance
Coordinate multiple phases of testing
Work with business and technology leads to identify the appropriate data for testing, and prepare that data for test cases
Write basic SQL queries, and maintain technical documentation
Write UNIX commands and shell scripts
Work closely with business users and other decision makers to participate in the overall test and/or project strategy and plan
Utilize strong communication and presentation skills to interact professionally with non-technical users
Communicate test results / issues to Project Manager and team in the appropriate level of detail
Qualifications
We’re looking for a team player with previous IT experience. The successful candidate will also have the following:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent
6 month previous IT project/consulting experience
Proficiency in MS Office (i.e., Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Strong working knowledge of Visual Basic, SQL and/or scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Unix shell)
Proficiency in Windows OS, Web, or UNIX environments
Understanding of the SDLC, testing methodologies and test frameworks
Ability to work within a team structure of varying sizes
