DESCRIPTION

Screens and recruits students for the Job Corps Program by making and maintaining a network of referral sources such as students already in the Job Corps Program, the Community Advisory Board, churches, welfare agencies (WIN, AFDC, Food Stamps, Income Maintenance, etc.), the Employment Service, courts, scholls, and political leaders or organizations; ads, radio, public interest programs on local TV; giving speeches at neighborhood organizations, churches, unions, etc..

DUTIES

This position is in Minot, North Dakota. Counsels the prospective student about eligibility requirements, pay and benefits, training and educational opportunities, rules, regulations, and responsibilities of students, residential or non-residential programs, etc.Counsels the prospective student with Job Corps placement guidelines and completing and processing the correct forms in the proper manner to determine whether the applicant is eligible for Job Corps.Maintains contact with those individuals who have been accepted and are awaiting departure to the Job Corps Center.This is not an all inclusive list of duties and responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor Degree in Social Science, Education, Counseling, Business or a related field and one year of teaching or job placement counseling experience is required. One year of experience working with disadvantaged youth required ORAn Associate Degree in Social Science, Education, Counseling, Business or a related field and four years of teaching or job placement counseling experience is required. Two years experience working with disadvantaged youth required. This position is in Minot, North Dakota.
